Experience lightning-fast and pinpoint-accurate autofocus with the revolutionary RF24mm f/1.4L VCM. Harnessing the power of a Voice Coil Motor (VCM), this cutting-edge actuator seamlessly transforms electrical energy into kinetic force through a magnetic field.
While the VCM propels the heavier focusing lens group, the Nano USM drives the floating lens. These two work in harmony to deliver swift and precise autofocus that operates smoothly and quietly, ideal for recording videos.
In order to achieve superior image quality, the RF24mm f/1.4L VCM uses a glass-molded (GMo) aspherical lens to suppress spherical aberration and image distortion.
Using two single Ultra-Low Dispersion (UD) lens elements with low refraction and low dispersion, axial and chromatic aberrations are reduced to deliver higher image quality.
Air Sphere Coating (ASC) with anti-reflection technology suppresses ghosting and reduces flare for clear and high contrast images even when shooting backlit subjects.
Subwavelength Structure Coating (SWC) is a nanometer-sized structure formed on the lens surface that supresses reflection to create images with better clarity and sharpness.

The large f/1.4 aperture and 11-blade circular design create beautifully smooth bokeh and a cinematic out-of-focus effect. It also allows for faster shutter speeds or lower ISO settings, making it perfect for capturing crisp images even in low-light conditions.

Focus Breathing Correction
When recording videos, a typical phenomenon that occurs is a 'pulsing effect' in the footage whereby the camera's angle of view changes slightly during focus racking. The RF24mm f/1.4L VCM's floating focus control suppresses breathing optically in all focus positions, resulting in outstanding video quality with any EOS R camera body.
With a compact size of 76.5mm in diameter and 515g in weight, the RF24mm f/1.4L VCM is smaller and over 20% lighter than the EF24mm f/1.4L II USM.

The lens has a dedicated focusing ring for manual focus which you can also customise for various functions similar to the control ring when paired with compatible cameras.

Control Ring
Canon's distinctive knurled control ring allows you to control AF area, shutter speed, aperture, exposure compensation, ISO, white balance, colour temperature and even Picture Style.
Rear Filter Holder
You can add a sheet-type filter behind the lens through the detachable rear filter holder and further stack other filters on the front of the lens to expand your creative expression.
Dust & Drip Resistance
The lens has a dust- and drip-resistant construction that keeps dust and water droplets out.
Fluorine Coating
